Hello,
I am a long time Canon user, learned with an Ftb back in the late 80's. I currently own 4 Canon DSLR bodies. The only Pentax body I owned until this past Friday was a ME Super. Friday, I purchased a used K-5 body with a SMC DA 50 f1.8 lens from a person off Craigslist. I purchased the Pentax K-5 once I read reviews, checked the DxOMark score plus I thought I was getting a great price. Once home I checked the shutter count on the K-5 and it was 11,673. I shot 50 or 60 photos in RAW and compared them to my Canon 7D and a 5D MII on MY computer. I came away very impressed. So here I am. My livelihood comes from these cameras and I can already see this Pentax is going to be heavily incorporated into portrait work.
